got a head full of questions and im running out of coffee

things im wondering lately…

::..how do you teach someone to have a living faith?

::..why do so many people consign their faith to sunday morning dirges and the voting booth?

::..what good is a hope you cant grasp now?

::..what are you when you have left traditional church and the emerging church behind but still trust and follow christ?

::..if freedom and democracy are worth fighting for how come jesus never fought for them?

::..why didnt jesus command us to go into all the world and overthrow evil governments?

::..why are rock stars and the hollywood nobility doing more for people in need all over the world than most christians i know?

::..why cant mark moore say ass in his sermon?

::..how did we get to the point where people verbalize a faith in christ that they never practice?

::..how can a person follow christ and utterly fail to be transformed?

::..why are we so interested in telling people they are saved if their life doesnt look any different from anyone else?

  1. Interesting. Makes me feel like I’m not “Saved” as…my life hasnt transformed much at all. *sigh*

Though, I did find myself asking a lot of the same questions :)

    • so hope – have any ideas yet?

hillary – ive fot with the term christian for a long time. i dont like it for the same reasons and ultimately i dont want any labels. the only one i will generally accept is christ follower. most the time i wish that christians were more concerned with being than branding.

  2. “what are you when you have left traditional church and the emerging church behind but still trust and follow christ?”

sigh. i don’t know. i ask the same because i am not an emergent either…i wondered in the past but now, well; here i am without a name. in my personal journey i left all to seek “the way i do not know”. i sometimes care not to even use the term ‘christian’ merely for the stigma that is attached that i want no part of…perhaps you can come up with a name for all of us.:D

  3. Let me chew on it more. I’ll print these out and maybe write a blog on it later?

  4. uhh…
    I don’t know.
