a moment of surrender

touched and lifted up

chest pulled together

under a clenching hand

years passing as an arm

retreats

and advances

fist gliding thru jaw like a boat

breaking the placid face of the sky

reflecting on a deepened mirror

and in falling

retracing the lines

a predestinate providence in the fall of a sparrow*

an invocation escaped a waning mind

father forebear this for i knew not my cue

and the glazing of eyes commencing

earth and body sliding into union

a dreamless future begun
